A welcome check-in within 24 hours of discharge. Pain, medications, vitals, mobility, mood — reviewed, recorded, reassured.

Day 3 & 7

Active recovery windows

The window where most concerns surface. Scheduled video or messaging visits to assess swelling, drainage, sleep, appetite, and incision care.

Day 14

Graduation & handoff

A final review with documented notes you can share with your surgeon at your six-week follow-up. Continued access if you need an extension.

Is Velvet Aftercare a replacement for my surgeon?

No, and intentionally so. Velvet exists alongside your surgical team — supporting your day-to-day recovery, catching what shouldn't slip, and escalating anything clinical back to your surgeon or to urgent care. We are a layer of attention, not a substitute for medical judgment or emergency care.

What kinds of procedures do you support?

Velvet currently supports recovery from elective surgical procedures, with particular care for cosmetic, plastic, and aesthetic recoveries — where the days after surgery shape the result. Reach out during onboarding and we'll confirm fit before enrollment.

Is my information private?

Yes. Velvet treats your medical information with HIPAA-aligned safeguards: encrypted records, role-based access, audit logs of every chart view, and a privacy policy you'll review at intake. Only your assigned clinical team can see your case.

Can I enroll if I'm traveling for surgery?

Especially then. Many of our patients fly in for procedures and recover at home in another state. Velvet is built for that — your care doesn't depend on geography.

What happens after the 14 / 30 days?

You graduate with a tidy summary of your recovery to bring to your six-week surgeon follow-up. If you'd like continued support, extensions are available at a concierge rate.

Is this covered by insurance?

Velvet is a private-pay concierge service and isn't billed through insurance. We can provide an itemized statement if your plan reimburses for nursing support.
